Chili ‘Fresno Red’ – Fruity Heat for Salsa and Sauces

Chili ‘Fresno Red’ (Capsicum annuum) is a medium-hot chili variety that combines a fresh, fruity flavour with pleasant heat. The slightly elongated, cone-shaped fruits grow to about 5–7 cm and ripen from green to deep red.

Fresno chili is somewhat similar to jalapeño, but often slightly hotter and more aromatic. It is especially well suited for salsa, salads, stews and hot sauces.

The compact and productive plants grow best in a warm location and are suitable for greenhouses, sheltered outdoor growing or pots on a balcony. This variety can also tolerate slightly cooler conditions fairly well.
