Leek ‘Autumn Mammoth 3 Elephant’ (Allium porrum) is a popular and productive autumn leek variety that develops strong, thick and pale stems. Its flavour is mild and onion-like, making it well suited for soups, stews and oven dishes.

Sow the seeds outdoors in a seedbed in early spring and plant the seedlings in their final growing location once they are about pencil-thick. This variety grows best in a sunny, sheltered location with well-fertilised soil. Suitable companion plants include carrot, cabbage, celery and strawberry.
